From the hearth of Europe's livestock industry HAVENS Feed is based in Maashees (Boxmeer) in the south-east of the Netherlands. Our production-sites are located on the Meuse-river in Maashees (Brabant) and Venlo (Limburg) in one of Europe's most densely populated regions when it comes to the livestock-industry (esp. poultry, dairy and pork).

HAVENS® Feed is the export-division of J. P. HAVENS Graanhandel NV, an independent family-based feed-corporation founded in 1845 by Mr. Godfried Kaanen, ancestor of today’s owners.

Since 1923 the company is based on the Meuse-river in the provinces of Brabant and Limburg (the Netherlands), the hearth of the European livestock-industry and famous for the professionalism and innovative power of its farmers.

HAVENS produces and supplies a wide range of animal feeds and feed-specialities:

bulk-feeds for professional farmers (poultry, dairy, pigs & pork or rabbits) in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany;
feed- and protein-concentrates for poultry, dairy or pig, to be mixed on the farm with local available ingredients;
high-quality horsefeed under the HAVENS-brand;
special slow-release supplements for the mushroom-industry and other specialties.

In the northwest of Europe (Holland, Belgium, Germany) HAVENS is particularly well-known for it’s bulk feed-concentrates for large poultry- or pigfarms. Our bulk feed-range varies from cereals (wheat, barley, maize, corn, corngluten, soybeanmeal, rapeseedmeal, linseedmeal, etc) to complete animal feed and/or supplementary feed or bulk-concentrates.

In the Equestrian World, HAVENS is considered "the Mercedes of horse feed. For years, HAVENS has been official horsefeed of the FEI World Equestrian Games (CHIO Aachen) and has been used at the Olympic Games from Seoul 1988 over Barcelona 1992 or Sydney 2000 to Beijing 2008.

Dedicated production

Our factories at the large HAVENS-site in Maashees, Boxmeer (Nl.) disposes of 100% dedicated production-lines, from reception of the ingredients to filling of the bags.

Most of the more than 150 ingredients are imported from Europe, Asia or the Americas. A unique weighting- and mixing-system (Synchrone Liquid Mixing) permits gramme-accurate dosages of vitamins and minerals together with liquid nutrients and fluid aminoacids.

Thus, HAVENS Feed combines cost-effectiveness to optimal product-quality.

Valorising local ingredients

Modern feed formulation combines locally available ingredients (cereals (wheat, corn, barley), soybean-meal, limestone, etc.) with a special feed concentrate, providing all necessary proteins, vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients (probiotics, yeast, special organic acids, etc.).

Since the 1980ies, HAVENS has been a pioneer in this particular field.

In close partnership with some of Europe’s largest livestock-farmers in the Netherlands and Germany, HAVENS supplies custom-made feed concentrates to obtain the lowest possible feeding-costs.

These concentrates can be supplied in bulk (for Holland and Germany) or in bags or big-bags (for export).

HAVENS Feed Concentrates are always based on the widest possible variety of fluid and liquid protein-sources, special coated vitamins and minerals. Because we believe feed should be healthy in the first place.

Since 1992, our production is HACCP-Certified for several quality-programs like GMP-, GMP-plus, QS Qualität und Sicherheit, KAT- and Safe-Feed.

Research & practical know-how

Feed formulation is our business. Therefore, we attach great value to knowing exactly the nutritional value of all ingredients we use and to the nutritional value of all locally available ingredients, used by our customers.

Over the years, we have been engaged in numerous experimental- and field-tests together with confirmed Research-Centers and/or with our customers.

Feed-research can be done by several modern methods and analysis, from microscopic or chemical analysis to the most advanced means like NIRS, HPLC or UPLC. Since the early 1980ies, we have build-up an impressive Feed Data Base on hundreds of feed-ingredients.
